Minneapolis’s Minnesota Gophers have secured their third verbal commitment from Iowa’s top linebacker Kason Clayborne, a prospect who has already earned picks from North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Kansas State, and Kansas. This latest addition marks the third of the team’s four 2027 recruits, with Clayborne joining Tate Wallace and Will Clausen in the offensive line, while also being projected as a potential every-down linebacker. Clayborne’s commitment comes after a series of impressive performances, including hitting .370 in college football and scoring eight home runs in high school. His brother, Kobe, was a defensive lineman for South Dakota State last season.
